[Steampunk AU] Scribblings and drawings

Ooops, forgot I had this one saved from a while ago. Needed only some finishing on the images...
This has to become something of a staple:
general_radix thinks and draws at an AU for Marathon, and I shamelessly copy the idea wholesale. Ooops. Also, Stempunk ahestetic is my preferred eye-candy and I have some old character in such a kind of setting (mostly on my Deviantart account, whoa is that stuff old!)
Anyway, I tried to draw my bunch of Marathon-derived characters in this kind of setting, and what came out is something between Laputa and Captain Harlock. And for once, Alex gets to be the boss instead of being the usual lone wolf: in this case, a ragtag bunch of pirates crewing an aethership having swashbuckling adventures on Arcadia's skies, coming down with Alex' usual tact and diplomacy (i.e. none whatsoever) in the perilous politics and happenings between Arcadian states/powers. Don't ever mention MIDA or Strauss to him or any of the crew...
Alex, still a battleroid -- or the steampunk equivalent, which I started to call wargolem -- now a bona-fide UESC defector. Actively contrasting UESC activities, and acting kind-of-like a privateer in favor of the poorest swaths of Arcadian people. And maybe, trying to get his hands on some Jjiaro-powered phlebotinum that might give his memory back...

In the end, Alex ended so much as this buff version of Corto Maltese. I find it... well, not a bad thing, actually.
Reinterpretation od the S'pht, some of the weapons and a terminal -- that was the most difficult, haha. The steampunk S'pht is a remake of something I drew a lot of times ago and it's easier to redraw it than trying to get the original (in a old PowerBook without a working power unit!)

More often than not, whenever I start with character design, I start with some chibi... Alex, Makeba, Nawal and Hana.

Still a chibi but more detailed: Makeba, security chief and top sniper. How she's dressing is heavily based on a particolar outfit by a model/cosplayer I follow on Pinterest, I think I'll change it a bit to get more original.
Other than more details, trying to give them slightly more standard body proportions (and mostly failing, her head is till too big): Nawal, second in command and resident diplomat.
Hana, chief engineer.

Thibault, helmsman.
Of course everyone has "not being hindered by whathever they wear" as a superpower ;)
[the only reason I don't slap gears everywhere is because they are a gigantic pain in the *beep* to draw.]

Thinking at a name. Arcadia is already taken ^^; I think I'll go with Deimos, hehe. The other two shaded thing are two views of engine room, then other scribbles inspired by Uru's Great Zero Engine, just to get in the mood. (I also have the main bridge but it's just a jumble of scratches.)
And then,
general_radix's characters (and Boomer) in their original design :)

All the drawing are pencil sketches then colored in Krita, using this watercolour set.
