Anyway, while wargaming and this level of apocalyptic-grimdark motif aren't my cup of tea, I enjoy reading about the lore -- and I also like to gaze at the various models and gaming boards because some of these are really incredible works of art.

Wow! The S.O. does look like a normal human being in comparison! I'm afraid I haven't played much Warhammer so I'm out of the loop about the lore. But I do love how animated Adeptus Astartes is!

All I know from W40k I know from the wiki! Or the wikis, since apparently there are more than one (I found two at least, not including TVTropes and the standard wikipedia). Some of the description are... something else, to say the least. They go way over the top in the seriousness, go straight crashing into the ridicolous, come back to serious again, and went at such for at least two or three other loops.

[I'm partial to the Adeptus Mechanicus characters, anyway. Silly Latin declensions and all.]
