Friday, 5 June 2020 10:34Another one about post-infinity Marathon, when Durandal corralls the multiverse on board of the Manus Celer Dei: with him the Security Officer - kinda changed by jjiaro technology - and a group of S'pht that joined them on the quest.
With this, I'mtrying a new kind of thing: since I can't write fanfiction in English (unless I want t make everyone laugh) nor in Italian (kind of a lack of ideas for plot and story); what I have I have is a bunch of worldbuilding notes and another bunch of sketches in various states of unfinishedness... I was thinking to a interesting format than the usual text infodump. Which is, a slightly more decorated text infodump :D (that will be active only on my journal, anyway)

Sunday, 3 May 2020 10:22It was a surprise , poking around let's plays of Doom Eternal (Marathon fans know why, of course...) discovering that 1- Doom has a lore which is 2- discovered through tangent hints and 3- the protagonist acquires two AI companions, one quite nice, the other one... not... and 4- Maykr drones remember me something. Well, and the "Eternal" title, hahaha. OK, ok, maybe a couple of these are a stretch, but still piqued my interest. Also some of the scenery are a wonder to look at. (Not much a fan of the over the top gore, however, even if played as tongue in cheek).
It was also a surprise noticing how I find myself creatively constipated and absolutely incapable of creating something new from scratch (and Zeus know if I tried, and Hera know if it's going to bite me in the arse, since I have a bunch of work/commissions to do in a short while), but if I take as a base some sketch of a while ago, I can go for it. I used this as a test for coloring, a thing that doesn't come me so easily. (as the time of completion, it's more than two months I tinker on it).
So I had this drawing of Marathon's Security Officer I did some times ago - in the face and name I gave him with a slightly deranged grin that can recall something very similar to veteran Doom players.

Well, between the guy who literally blasted Hell and Heaven to the next week and the timeline-shifting zombie cyborg killer that became the living avatar of destiny I'm sure they have stories to tell. Or complain alien implants/augmentations. Or chat about shotguns.
Or sign, as the fanon for the DoomSlayer seems to be, and I really like this tidbit. ...wondering about the IS translation of "how the *beep* do you reload it, again?"

Thursday, 26 March 2020 19:06Let's say that last month for known reasons I had a lot of free time[1], and I had this idea of trying to make a more "toon" appereance, and starting to tackle at least the simpler shapes.
[1] the known reasons are still here but all free time now is being eaten by boring real life stuff If I see another C****19 hoax or meme I'll *beeping* scream

...maybe Tycho might want to use a humanoid probe to deal with the pfhor. Yeah, this is an excuse to introduce his look :P
And since I based Alex on Captain Okita and Durandal's appereance on Desslok, Tycho gets to take his looks from Zordar :D I think the top brass of pfhor navy starts from Enforcers, hence how he's dressed.
(Also, I promise once these holidays and the studio renovation are after, I'll catch up with everyone else's work! I can't wait!)

general_radix thinks and draws at an AU for Marathon, and I shamelessly copy the idea wholesale. Ooops. Also, Stempunk ahestetic is my preferred eye-candy and I have some old character in such a kind of setting (mostly on my Deviantart account, whoa is that stuff old!)
Anyway, I tried to draw my bunch of Marathon-derived characters in this kind of setting, and what came out is something between Laputa and Captain Harlock. And for once, Alex gets to be the boss instead of being the usual lone wolf: in this case, a ragtag bunch of pirates crewing an aethership having swashbuckling adventures on Arcadia's skies, coming down with Alex' usual tact and diplomacy (i.e. none whatsoever) in the perilous politics and happenings between Arcadian states/powers. Don't ever mention MIDA or Strauss to him or any of the crew...
